Translating Paṭṭhāna Volume III into English

For over 2,500 years, the global Buddhist community has diligently worked to translate a significant portion of the Pāḷi Canon into modern languages. The Pāḷi-English Tipiṭaka has undergone meticulous translation, compilation, and annotation over the past 200 years. However, parts of the Abhidhamma, such as Paṭṭhāna, remain only partially translated. So far, only two of the five volumes of Paṭṭhāna have been translated and published by the Pali Text Society. Translating this text into English is vital for both Buddhism and the world’s literary heritage. The doctoral thesis in Buddhist Philosophy by Bhikkhu Tikkhañāṇa, focusing on translating Paṭṭhāna Volume III, aims to open new avenues for research and in-depth application of Abhidhamma.
